Dude i understand where youre coming from completely. Ill probably end up garaging the Z unfortunately, and buy an Aurora or some FWD GM with traction control. Anyway, i had a lot of SCARY moments with my DTS in this winter. I mean, I was almost in 2 accidents, and the only thing that saved me was quick wit (story below), computers, and luck. Heres the quick wit story. Very simple ill make it for you guys. Following my sister in her 78 Mustang. Going up very ICY ICY ICY hill in residential neighborhood. Cars parked on both sides. Only room for 1 car to go between. Very tight. Get to the top, shes going too fast (15mph), hill decends faster than expected (angle that is). I see her brakes before i get over the "hump". I start to brake. My ABS automatically turns on because my wheels locked up on the ice. It is a steep downhill. Sis crashes into parked camry on left hand side (she fished to the left). I had a couple of options: 1) Hit her in the rear 2) Hit the parked Paseo on the right side of the road 3) Hit the snow bank I saw the snow bank and somehow miraculously turned the car into it (i dont know how i was able to do it). Mind you this happened, all of it, in less than 1.5 seconds. It was QUICK. Snow banks are softer than Paseos, and do not deal with insurance companies, so i was set! ;-) Anyway, thats that
